Share the Love

10For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do. 11And we want each one of you to show the same diligence, so as to realize the full assurance of hope to the very end, 12so that you may not become sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. ~ Hebrews 6:10-12

We have heard that you cannot "earn" your way to heaven.  However, we also cannot sit idly by and "do nothing" to get to heaven, either.  Then how do we gain entrance into heaven at the end of this life?

We must believe that Christ was the Messiah and Savior that died for our sins.  We must repent of our own sins and try to live a Christ-like life and accept His gift of salvation, which is freely given to all who believe.  We must imitate Christ and all those of faith that put others before themselves so that they will also come to know the love of Christ and our Heavenly Father.

Do we have to do amazing feats of service to gain our eternal home with Christ?  No.  We do, however, need to always be prepared to do what is needed at the moment to further God's kingdom here on earth.  Share a listening ear to those who are hurting physically and spiritually.  Feed those who are hungry.  Clothe those that are in need of clothing.  Do whatever you feel called at the moment to do to show God's love.  Serve "at the drop of a hat" when you see a need arise.  Share the love of Christ for which we are all called to do so that others may be saved for His kingdom by our service in His name.

Dear Lord,

Here we are!  Use us as You need to further Your kingdom.  Thank You for Your gift of salvation, which is freely given to all who believe in You.  Amen.
