Silver Cross Encore Shop Holds Antique & Collectible Sale Feb. 3 and 4

Silver Cross Hospital’s resale shop—the Encore Shop, will hold its annual Antique and Collectibles Sale Friday, Feb. 3, and Saturday, Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some of the items that will be available to purchase include vintage clothing, fur coats and wraps, linens, hats and hat boxes, toys, Waterford and Belleek crystal, kitchen ware, books, records and jewelry like Swarovski. All proceeds benefit Silver Cross Hospital, a not-for-profit health care provider. Cash and credit cards accepted.

The Silver Cross Encore Shop is located in the Business Center on the Silver Cross Hospital campus, 710 Cedar Crossings Dr., New Lenox. The Shop is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations can be dropped off at the Shop or in the collection bin on the south side of the Silver Cross Hospital. For over 50 years the Encore Shop has been operated by a volunteer group of women called the Silver Cross Advisory Board. In recent years, the Advisory Board donated more than $1 million to Silver Cross for the purchase of a variety of medical equipment. The group recently completed a $75,000 pledge to purchase the water feature in the Dralle Serenity Garden outside the new Silver Cross Hospital. Currently, the Advisory Board is working on $105,000 pledge to purchase new surgical equipment for the Hospital.
