Silver Cross Golf Outing Raises over $150,000 for Robotic Surgery
Proceeds from the event will help fund advanced equipment, including the new Globus ExcelsiusGPS® Spine Robot.
The Silver Cross Foundation raised $150,585 at its 27th Annual Charity Golf Classic. Held at Crystal Tree Country Club in Orland Park on June 25, 144 golfers came out to support Silver Cross Hospital. Proceeds from the event will help fund advanced equipment, including the new Globus ExcelsiusGPS® Spine Robot and provide continuing education for the staff with The Midwest Institute for Robotic Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital. Silver Cross is the only hospital in the tri-state area with the unique robot allowing for more precise back and neck surgery.
Home to some of the most highly skilled surgeons in the United States, the Institute at Silver Cross performs more surgeries using robotic-assisted technology, including hysterectomies and complex procedures to treat colorectal cancer, than anyone else in the Chicago area. Surgeons from around the world come to Silver Cross to observe advanced procedures. Since 2012, Silver Cross has performed over 5,000 robotic-assisted surgical procedures with patients experiencing less pain and scarring, a shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery than with traditional open surgery.
Among the many donors and sponsors at this year’s outing, the top sponsors contributing $5,000 or more included Block Electric, Brown & Brown Insurance, Inc. , D’Arcy GMC- Buick, Elite Ambulance, EM Strategies, First Midwest Bank, Kurtz Ambulance, MBRE Healthcare, PFS Group, Reed Construction, and the Silver Cross Medical Staff.
