Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission Awards Scholarships

$28,000 in scholarships were given to 11 individuals pursuing healthcare studies.

The Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission has awarded $28,000 in healthcare scholarships to 11 individuals who reside in zip codes 60432, 60433, and 60436, and the Lockport Grade School District #89.

Scholarships were given to the following individuals pursuing healthcare studies: Lynda Bond, Joliet Junior College; Cassandra Burke, Lewis University; Marco Calvillo, Fox College; Irisha Clark, University of Illinois; Ashley Dominici, Loyola University ; Megan Harms, University of Iowa; Rosalind Hughes, Healthcare Training Institute; Andre Baez Martinez, University of St. Francis; Kelly O’Brien, Joliet Junior College; Adriana Rodriguez, Joliet Junior College; and Isaiah Snapp, College of DuPage.

“We are delighted to provide scholarships to residents who are pursuing a career in healthcare. It is our mission to help build a better future for our community by providing access to education,” said Margie Woods, Chair of the Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission. “Education is a gift no one can take away.”
