Silver Cross Hospital Restricts Visitors Because Of Flu Season

Silver Cross said it enacted the safety measure to prevent the spread of the flu to their patients, visitors and hospital staff.

(The following information comes directly from the Silver Cross Hospital website.)

NEW LENOX, IL - Due to the increased incidence of influenza (flu) activity, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) along with the Will County Health Department have issued notification with the following temporary visiting restrictions to protect our patients, visitors and staff:

  • No visitors under the age of 18 years will be allowed to visit
  • Limit of two (2) visitors per room
  • If you have a fever, cough, sore throat, vomiting and/or diarrhea, please postpone your visit until you have been symptom-free for 24 hours
  • Patients in isolation for influenza will have visitors at the caregivers’ discretion AND must comply with wearing masks
  • WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER VISITING

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we will keep these rules in place only until the IDPH and Will County Health Department removes the restrictions. At Silver Cross, our top priority is your Well-being and Safety.
