Silver Cross, Starbucks Coffee Sued For 2016 Incident

Rodeghero has hired the Chicago law firm of Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates.

NEW LENOX, IL - It's been two years since Glenna Rodeghero visited the Silver Cross Hospital premises and frequented the Cafe 1900 Coffee Shop. As a result of that experience, Rodeghero went out and hired the Chicago law firm of Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates to sue Silver Cross Hospital, the Cafe and the Starbucks Coffe Company.

Her personal injury negligence lawsuit was filed recently at the Will County Courthouse by attorney Michael Silverman. The lawsuit indicates that Silver Cross Hospital, Cafe 1900 Coffee Shop and Starbucks jointly owned and operated the coffee shop at 1900 Silver Cross Boulevard in New Lenox.

Then on Dec. 16, 2016, "Plaintiff Rodeghero slipped and fell due to the wet and slippery floor," her lawyers contend.

According to Rodeghero's suit, a customer at Starbucks had "spilled a liquid onto the floor of the coffee shop. ... an employee of Defendant Starbucks mopped the spilled liquid off the floor to clean the spill ... after mopping the spilled liquid off the floor, the employee of Defendant Hospital did not place a wet floor sign, cone, barricade or other warning device to warn customers that the floor was set and slippery.

"Plaintiff Glenna Rodeghero was lawfully present on said premises as an invitee of Defendant Hospital and Defendant Cafe and Defendant Starbucks," her lawyers argue. "Plaintiff Rodeghero slipped and fell due to the wet and slippery floor."
