Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital Will Open In 2019
Dignitaries and politicians held a groundbreaking ceremony last week in New Lenox.

NEW LENOX, IL - Silver Cross officials and Will County area politicians came together last week for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction for the new Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital. The new psychiatric hospital is expected to be completed during the early part of 2019. It will have 100 beds and provide an array of services for patients dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues from Will and Grundy Counties.
“Silver Cross is dedicated to meeting the mental health and substance abuse needs in this community,” said Ruth Colby, President and CEO of Silver Cross Hospital, in a press release issued by the Silver Cross marketing team. “The leaders of this village and county care deeply about the quality of life for the people who reside here. With our partner, US HealthVest, this behavioral health hospital will provide expert mental health and substance abuse services for everyone who needs it.”

The new building will encompass two stories and is being built on roughly five acres on the west end of the Silver Cross Hospital campus near Interstate 355 and Route 6.

“There are so many people that are faced with mental health or dependency issues, and it’s a lot easier to bury your head in the sand, but it happens in this community. This facility is what we need to help combat those issues,” said New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann in the press release.
