Special Holiday Offers Encourage New Lenox Residents to Shop Local

New Lenox residents shouldn’t spend extra time and gasoline traveling out of the Village for this year’s holiday shopping unless they first look into local merchants’ specials. The Village of New Lenox will be advertising local businesses that are offering holiday bargains and events through the 3rd Annual Celebrate & Shop Campaign.

The Campaign begins on “Small Business” Saturday on Nov. 28 and continues through Sunday, Dec. 6 with the culmination of Christmas in the Commons held from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Commons. Mark your calendars for an afternoon of numerous family fun activities.

Local merchants are submitting discounts, special offers, and/or events in anticipation of the holiday shopping season. Residents can view the names of participating merchants by checking the Village’s website, by “liking” the Village of New Lenox on Facebook, and through signs in participating American Express-created and sponsored Small Business Saturday.

“We are pleased that local businesses are able to communicate their holiday offers through the Village,” said Nancy Dye, Economic Development Coordinator for the Village. Dye further commented that “Village residents should check out these local deals and opportunities before fighting crowds and traffic in other communities.”
