As the end of the school year approaches, many families are considering – or reconsidering – the options available for their children’s education. Beyond public and parochial schools, the Joliet area is fortunate to be home to a truly unique and effective educational alternative.
Joliet Montessori School (JMS) has announced the dates for three open house events during the spring and summer, giving area families an opportunity to see what Montessori education is like, and why it presents an attractive alternative for those who feel that public and parochial schools aren’t the right fit for their educational priorities and values.

Both morning and evening events are available to accommodate busy family schedules. No RSVP is required, and all are welcome. The open house dates are:

The Montessori Method and the JMS Difference

For more than a century, the Montessori method of education has unlocked the potential of children by giving them intuitive tools to learn, and the freedom to explore their academic interests under the helpful direction of certified Montessori educators. Children in the Montessori system are taught the values of self-reliance, self-discipline and self-directed study, giving them a lifetime love of learning in all its forms.
JMS has been a fixture in the Joliet area for more than 50 years and is the only Montessori school in Will County to hold certifications from both the American Montessori Society (AMS) and Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). JMS is also the only such institution in the area with a curriculum for students ranging from 18 months to the ninth grade, delivering the long-term benefits of Montessori education that prepare graduates for the rigors of high school and college.

In addition to these open house events, families may also schedule a private tour of JMS at a convenient time by calling the office at 815-741-1480.
