Video: Horses on the Loose on Laraway Road

Just another day in New Lenox ... right?

New Lenox resident Brett Marcowka was driving along Laraway Road Friday when his wife spotted something unusual.

“My wife said ‘look at the horses’ and I replied ‘they’re always there,’” Marcowka said. “She said ‘no, look at the ones in front of us.’”

The two were headed eastbound on Laraway Road, near Spencer, when they spotted the three roaming equines. Luckily, drivers seemed to let up on their own horsepower to allow the four-legged kind to make it safely along the road. They appeared to head toward a barn nearby, he said.

“What was most funny was they looked like they were on a mission to get back home.”

We hear that they made it back to the barn safe and sound. (Perhaps they had just made a carrot run to Jewel.)
