Village, Community Coalition To Host DEA Agent In Drug Abuse & Awareness Talk
The drug education presentation is set for Wednesday, Feb. 4 in New Lenox.
NEW LENOX, IL — The Village of New Lenox and its Safe Community Coalition are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration in a forum covering trends in drug and substance abuse currently impacting communities.
DEA Special Agent Greg Czaczkowski will speak during the presentation set for Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will take place in the Community Room at the New Lenox Village Hall.
The presentation will be led by DEA Special Agent Greg Czaczkowski, a veteran agent with more than 20 years of experience. Special Agent Czaczkowski will discuss current drug and substance use issues impacting the community, with information tailored to both parents and teens. Known for his engaging and dynamic speaking style, he will share real-world experiences and practical insights throughout the presentation.

- Substance Use Disorder
- Marijuana Use Among Teens
- Illicit Use of Pills
- Vaping
- Making Good Choices
- Avoiding Peer Pressure
- Current Drug Trends the DEA Is Monitoring
In addition to the presentation, the DEA Chicago Field Division and HERO will host informational tables. Attendees will have the opportunity to view items from HERO’s “Hidden in Plain Sight” trailer, as well as displays from HERO’s newest program, “In Plain Sight,” which focuses on understanding 7-OH, Kratom, and THC. These displays allow parents to see firsthand the types of paraphernalia currently being used, including items teens use to conceal drugs.

Weather permitting, the DEA Chicago Field Division will also bring its “One Pill Can Kill” show vehicle, a mobile tool used nationwide for substance use prevention and education.
Rounding out the evening, Officer Candice Guidry of the New Lenox Police Department will conduct a live demonstration with her K-9 partner, Harlie—a crowd favorite at community events.
This presentation is ideal for parents, school counselors, athletic coaches, youth pastors, and anyone who works with or supports youth.
Registration is required and can be completed online. Deadline to register is Tuesday, Feb. 3.
