Walgreens Worker Thwarts Prescription Fraud, Druggie Still Steals Stuff

A Walgreens worker foiled a bid to obtain prescription medication but the fraudster didn’t leave empty-handed.

Officers were sent to the Nelson Road Walgreens about 9:30 p.m. Sunday to investigate a complaint of a fraudulent prescription.

The officer was “advised the offender attempted to fraudulently use a doctor’s DEA number to obtain medication,” police said. “The prescription was not filled. The offender stole several items from the store prior to leaving.”
