NEW LENOX, IL - Here's your look at some of the key crimes that have been investigated so far this month at the New Lenox Police Department. There's a wide variety here.
JULY 3
The officer was dispatched to Speedway Gas Station in reference to a Deceptive Practice complaint. The complainant advised they received three counterfeit $20 bills as payment.

JULY 4
The officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a Battery complaint. The male complainant advised that a customer cut in front of them while they were standing in line waiting to check out. An argument ensued and the complainant was struck in the chest by the male offender. Police said the case was under review by investigations for assignment or closure.

JULY 6
The officer was dispatched to Burger King in reference to a Deceptive Practice complaint. The complainant advised that they received a customer-tendered counterfeit $20 bill as payment. When the cashier questioned the customer about the counterfeit bill, the customer left the restaurant.
JULY 7
The officer was dispatched to Tyler Bentley School in reference to a portable toilet on fire. NLFPD extinguished the fire without incident.
JULY 8
The officer was dispatched to McDonald's on East Laraway Road for a welfare check. The complainant, an employee, advised that they observed several vehicles move around a vehicle in the drive through lane. The complainant indicate that the driver of the vehicle appeared to be asleep. The officer located the vehicle and had to awaken the driver. The officer determined that the driver of the vehicle, Nicholas Nakamura, 36, of the 2200 block of Scotsglen Drive, New Lenox, was under the influence of alcohol. Nakamura posted bond and was released.
JULY 9
The officer was dispatched to Feil Water Treatment in reference to a Theft complaint. The complainant advised that someone stole 40 wooden pallets valued at approximately $500 from the business.
