Watch: L-W West Boys Soccer Falls Victim to Sandburg Surge

The Warriors give up two goals in a four-minute span at the outset and drop a 5-0 boys soccer decision to Sandburg in play at the Lincoln-Way West Invitational.

Tough start? You be the judge.

The Lincoln-Way West boys soccer team gave up two goals in the first four minutes of the match as Sandburg blanked the Warriors 5-0 at the Lincoln-Way West Invitational on Tuesday.

Things didn't look good from the start as an errant pass from senior Brandon Waterland turned into a Sandburg goal just three minutes into the match. The Eagles struck again only a minute later to put the Warriors in a 2-0 hole. Solid defense and great goalkeeper play kept Sandburg scoreless for the remainder of the first half.

But it was deja vu in the second half as Sandburg junior Alex Rohder scored his second goal of the match just 35 seconds into the half. Goals in the 57th and 77th minutes rounded out the scoring for the Eagles.

The Warriors weren't able to generate much offense as they only put four shots on goal despite taking five corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper Chris Maj made five saves, but allowed four of the five Sandburg goals.
