His master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” ~ Matthew 25.21
This weekend, our church family will hold a celebration honoring a beautiful woman of Christ. Her 34 years of ministry through directing the children’s choirs with her love and grace have touched the lives of many over the years – some of the children she has directed now have or have also had children of their own directed by her as well. We will have a special presentation honoring her during our worship services on Sunday as she retires from this position she has held near and dear to her heart all of these years, complete with posters and pictures taken throughout her years of service, with her church family telling her just how much we have appreciated her faithful ministry.
Christ trusts us to carry out His ministry in this world. He puts us in charge of different tasks according to our different abilities and expects us to fulfill those that He has set before us. As we go about these tasks we are entrusted with, we find great joy and fulfillment in our lives. Someday, we will be called upon by Him to answer for what we have accomplished in our lives. At that time, we also hope to hear the words “Well done, good and trustworthy servant!” How is your “task” list coming along?

Thank You for setting before us tasks that, with Your help, we can accomplish. Help us to fulfill them according to Your will so that one day we will hear You say, “Well done, good and trustworthy servant!” Amen.
