My favourite thing about New Lenox would have to be the scenery. The commons is pulchritudinous, delightfully radiant landscape; and that's coming from someone who ordinarily finds it difficult to appreciate architecture and artificial basin.
The Old Plank Trail, also a route to the previously mentioned commons, is beautiful and simply ravishing. It's charming in the daylight, where one can observe the songs of the many variety of local avians and the playful behaviour of squirrels scampering along from tree to tree. It's angelic in the moonlight - the brief outlines of trees overhead impart a feeling of stoicism.
However, there exists an even grander trail in New Lenox - the Hickory Creek Trail and Nature Preserve, accessible on School House across the street from Lincoln Way Central, contains the most gorgeous, pristine land in all of New Lenox. The trail itself is magnificent, only getting more statuesque as your view departs from it. The landscape contains virtually untouched patches of land - waterways, hills, marshes, and so many beautiful animals.
Have some free time over the summer? Turn off the television and your computer for a while and go for a walk - New Lenox is home to breathtakingly gorgeous locations. There are sights to see, experiences to be had - there's fresh air for you to breathe and warm sunlight for you to bask in. Take some time to enjoy and appreciate the beauty within your town - you won't regret it.
