Women's March 2019 Comes To New Lenox

NEW LENOX, IL - On Wednesday, Patch reported that organizers opted to cancel the Women's March Chicago rally set for Jan. 19 at Grant Park. While thousands of people will be dejected by the news of the Chicago rally's cancellation, the village of New Lenox will remain one of the few select communities in Illinois to host a march and rally.

The Women's March 2019 New Lenox Facebook page indicates the event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the New Lenox Village Commons, which is just up the hill from Route 30, and not far from Interstate 80.

The Facebook page proclaims, "We March. We Resist. We Lead. The Women's Wave is Coming."

People are now being encouraged to attend the New Lenox event, which takes place at 1 Veterans Parkway. As of Wednesday, a total of 51 people had indicated on the Facebook page that they were coming to New Lenox. Another 350 people marked that they were interested and there were 56 Facebook page shares with event information about Women's March 2019.
