Action Party Is Seeking Candidates

If you're interested in running for elected office in Morton Grove, the Action Party is holding open screening sessions for candidates.

 

The Action Party of Morton Grove announced this week it is continuing its tradition of holding open screening sessions to seek candidates, this time for the upcoming municipal elections in April of 2013. 

Screening sessions will be scheduled in mid-September to accommodate those applicants seeking to run for the offices of Village President, Village Clerk and three seats for Village Trustee, said a statement from Village Trustee Maria Toth.

"The Action Party  prides itself on its open and inclusive process to seek out residents who are not only interested in running for office on the Village Board, but who also may be interested in volunteering their time in other capacities to help keep Morton Grove the great place it is to live, work and raise a family," Toth wrote in the statement.

Those interested should send a letter to the Chair of the Search Committee with a resume or background information and a cover letter with all contact information.  This should be sent to:  Mr. James Verhunce, 8821 Mansfield, Morton Grove, IL  60053.  Resumes can also be sent via email to:  contact@actionparty.org.

“I encourage all interested citizens to become involved in their local government to give something back to the community,” stated Action Party President Mark Matz in the statement.

The statement said an example of the Action Party's process is Village Clerk Tony Kalogerakos, who, with no previous connection to the Action Party, was screened, selected, and successfully ran for office.
