Arrest Made In Crash That Killed An 89-Year-Old Pedestrian: Morton Grove PD
Jesus Guzman, of Joliet, faces a felony, and other traffic-related charges, stemming from the October 2025 incident.

MORTON GROVE, IL — A Joliet man has been arrested in connection with a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash that occurred last year in which an 89-year-old man was killed. Jesus Guzman, 22, of the 1700 block of S. Chicago Street, is accused of felony reckless homicide with a motor vehicle, as well as other traffic-related charges.
Guzman is schedule to appear in court Friday for a pretrial arrangement hearing, according to the Morton Grove Police Department.

Police responded to the 6800 block of Dempster Street at around 6:03 a.m. Oct. 17, 2025, for a report of a pedestrian had been struck by a car. Boris A. Nudelman, of Skokie, was attempting to cross Dempster Street while walking southbound when he was struck by a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta traveling eastbound. At the time, police said the driver, identified as Guzman, was cooperating with the investigation.
Nudelman was taken to Lutheran General Hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Following the crash, the Morton Grove Police Department, with assistance from the Major Crash Assistance Team, conducted an extensive investigation. As a result of this investigation, charges were filed against Guzman on Thursday.
In addition to the reckless homicide charge, Guzman also faces charges for driving under the influence of drugs, speeding, and tinted front windows.
