Check It Out… We Can Hold That for You!!

Can’t make it to the library right away, but want to make sure that book is still available? We can hold it for you!
 
There are several ways for MGPL to get you the items you want ASAP. If you check the online catalog and see that the item you want is on the shelf, give us a call at 847-929-5101 and we will grab it and hold it at the Check-Out Desk for you. Books, non-fiction DVDs, and CDs are held for three days; feature DVDs and Blu-rays are held until closing time.
 
If you see in the catalog that there are no copies currently available, click the “Place Hold” link under the picture of the cover. Then enter your library card barcode number and your PIN. If you will not be able to pick up your holds for a certain period of time enter the dates in the suspension area. This way your holds won’t be ready until after you get back, but you won’t lose your place in line.  When you are done press the green “Place Hold” button and you’re done!
 
Or you can skip all this, call us, and we will be happy to do it for you. When your items are ready you will be notified. The fastest way to be notified is to sign up for e-notifcations and receive your notifications via e-mail.
