Cinema Sleuths: Classic Screen Detectives of the 1930s & 1940s

Throughout the history of film, the private eye has been a popular on-screen hero.


Come to the Morton Grove Public Library for a six-part series on classic detective movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Each month we'll watch a film and follow it with a discussion moderated by author and film historian Doug Deuchler. 


The first film in the series is Murder My Sweet, showing this Saturday, June 14 at 2 pm:

Murder My Sweet  (1944, NR, 1 hr 30 min) Dick Powell plays Philip Marlowe, Raymond Chandler's hard-boiled private detective, in this film noir mystery, also starring Claire Trevor.
