D'Amico Talks with St. John Brebeuf Students Studying Illinois Government

State Rep. John D’Amico visited St. John Brebeuf’s second grade class in Niles to discuss his legislative responsibilities with students studying Illinois government Monday morning.
“I’m glad to meet with these students to discuss how their state government works,” D’Amico said. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, so it’s important that we teach them to study issues and instill a strong sense of civic responsibility in our young people from an early age.”

D’Amico visited the students who had recently completed a course on “Government and the Illinois Constitution.” He discussed current bills in the House, and the students shared ideas on state legislation. Each student received a State of Illinois handbook to help continue learning about their elected officials and the process of state government.
