Day-to-day ministry continues at St. John Brebeuf during shutdown

SJB which has been an integral part of Niles for 65 years continues to bring light to world in both traditional and innovative ways.

The sanctuary may still be empty, but private daily Masses are offered by the priests at St. John Brebeuf, 8305 N. Harlem Avenue, Niles, on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday during this time of pandemic closures.

“It is in the Gospel of John that Jesus refers to himself as ‘the light of the world’,” said Fr. Michael Meany, pastor of St. John Brebeuf. “We continue to bring that light to our world in both traditional and innovative ways during this time of continuing shutdown even if we are prevented from physically being with each other.”

Sunday Mass is offered live on Facebook at 9 a.m. in English and at 10:30 a.m. in Polish. Sunday Masses on YouTube are available visiting www.sjb.org. Mass is offered in English at 4 p.m. and at 5 p.m. in Polish live on Facebook on Wednesdays. Family Mass is offered at 8:30 a.m. live on Facebook on Thursday.
