FAiR Coalition Success and Citizen Action Alert: SB636 Is On It's Way to the Governor's Desk!
Citizens are called to be ready for action following the success of FAiR's save the diagonals legislation

Greetings Neighbors!
I come bringing you good news. Follow this link to see it for yourself (http://ilga.gov/legislation/billstatus.a...). Yup, that’s right, FAiR’s legislation has passed both chambers of the IL Legislature! This allows the number of runways at O’Hare to go to 10 instead of the current 8 effectively taking off the table the argument of the need to decomission the diagonal runways. It also provides for a new noise metric that will better take into account noise we are experiencing.
You did it! We did it! The largest civic movement of citizens on Chicago’s North and Northwest side, and the Northwest suburbs did it! Please take some time to celebrate.....
And, we include in our celebration Senator Mulroe (introduced the legislation in the IL Senate) and Representative Moylan (carried the bill in the IL House).
Now we must urge Governor Rauner to sign the legislation. Look for an email form Helen early this week with your next FAiR action steps you can do as a citizen to make this happen. The trip for SB636 is nearly over but ours is not and more news is very soon to come. (To make sure you receive FAiR Citizen Action Alerts, go towww.fairchicago.org and click on “Join”).
