Homeless Man Uses Pellet Gun in Armed Robberies in Morton Grove, Glenview: Police
Andrew Sibben was arrested Friday night after police said he robbed the Palace Cantonese Restaurant in Morton Grove.

A 42-year-old homeless man faces charges after police said he used a “pellet-type pistol” to rob a restaurant in Morton Grove Friday night.
Andrew Sibben is also accused of an armed robbery earlier in the day on Friday and an attempted armed robbery in recent days, according to Morton Grove Police Commander Paul Yaras.

Police were called to Palace Cantonese Restaurant, 9236 Waukegan Road in Morton Grove, at about 8:21 p.m. on Friday where they learned a suspect displayed a handgun and got away with an undetermined amount of cash from the cash register, Yaras said in a news release.
Sibben was found a short time later climbing a fence nearby and was detained by an officer, police said. Police searched the area and found the pellet gun, stolen money and clothing that belonged to Sibben. The victim in the robbery identified Sibben as the suspect and Sibben was arrested, according to the news release.

Police said Sibben confessed to the crimes in Glenview and Morton Grove. He is charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted robbery.
A court date has not yet been set.
