Knights of Columbus Council 4338 donates $900 to feed the hungry

Maine Township's Food Pantry has been busy helping record numbers of unemployed feed their families.

Maine Township’s Food Pantry has been extremely active in recent months as record unemployment hits the area increasing the need for public assistance such as free food. Food is available Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food and financial donations are also accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On May 19 Mel Koenigs of Niles, the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 4338 which serves St. John Brebeuf of Niles and other parishes, presented checks totaling $900 to Carol Langan, Food Pantry Coordinator. Funds came from Koenigs on a personal basis and the Knights Council. In addition, Langan holds some of the face masks donated by Tribune Products Office Supply and the Barton Event Management Group.
