Meet A Famous Crime Novelist, or Be The Jury Which Decides

• The Niles village board has an Informal Considerations meeting at 6 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7 p.m.
• Ready for a riveting play that touches on hot-button social issues? "Defamation" is presented at Oakton Community College at 2 p.m. Tuesday.  The audience becomes the jury.
• Famous Chicago mystery novelist Sara Paretsky appears at Barnes & Noble Wednesday evening for a book signing of her latest, "Critical Mass." 7 p.m. at the Old Orchard location.
• From 3 to 6 p.m., business owners and managers can join the Skokie, Morton Grove, Niles, Park Ridge, Des Plaines and other chambers of commerce at a Multi-Chamber Expo at Victoria in the Park in Mount Prospect.
