Meet the Author: Blair Davis
On January 21 at 2PM, Morton Grove Public Library hosts Author Blair Davis for a talk about comic books.

Adaptations of comics have been a vital part of American cinema since the early 1900s, with comics characters regularly leaping from the page to the screen.
DePaul University Professor, Blair Davis, will discuss his new book Movie Comics: Page to Screen/Screen to Page and show clips from numerous 1940s and 1950s films starring Superman, Batman, Captain Marvel and other popular characters as he chronicles how early film and comics audiences experienced the same characters and stories in multiple forms.
Blair Davis is an Assistant Professor of Media and Cinema Studies in the College of Communication at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. He is the author of The Battle for the Bs: 1950s Hollywood and the Rebirth of Low-Budget Cinema and Movie Comics: Page to Screen/Screen to Page, as well as numerous articles and essays in such anthologies as Horror Film: Creating and Marketing Fear and The Blacker the Ink: African Americans and Comic Books, Graphic Novels and Sequential Art.
