Morton Grove to Allow Outdoor Dining Areas Village-Wide on May 29
Residents of Morton Grove now have an outdoor "dine-in" option at restaurants around town.

Residents of Morton Grove now have a “dine-in” option at restaurants around town. On May 20, 2020 Governor Pritzker issued an order allowing restaurants and bars to begin outdoor table service. The new service officially started on Friday, May 29. Mayor DiMaria of Morton Grove applauded these efforts to open businesses and restaurants as much and as soon as possible.
In order to comply with state guidance, the Village adopted temporary COVID rules for outdoor dining areas during Phase III of the Restore Illinois Plan. All participating restaurants must meet all State, Federal, and Local Emergency Orders with respect to occupancy and operation. In addition, the Village also developed a quick, free and easy process to enable restaurateurs and liquor license holders the use of outdoor areas including up to 50% of parking areas for dining, subject to local and State health requirements.
This page on the Morton Grove website introduces the process and guidelines: www.mortongroveil.org/outdoordining. The Village is willing to work with all restaurants to ensure that outdoor dining during this recovery phase is both comfortable and safe.
