Morton Grove Historical Society Announces New Event for October!

Did you ever wonder what a family dinner was like over a century ago? Naturally, there were no electronic devices and social networking meant talking to people sitting across the table from you.  Frozen foods and microwave cooking?  That was a long way away!

Much closer, is October 5th, 2014 when the Morton Grove Historical Society will be holding a novel new fundraiser titled "Sunday Dinner at 5" which will be held on that Sunday at 5pm "inside" the Morton Grove Historical Museum.  A full meal with wine and beer will be provided for up to 6 guests that the winner of the raffle will be able to invite.

Imagine sitting in a 125 year old room at a table that has been used for generations by a family right here in Morton Grove.  Dinner will be served on antique china with old silverware and crystal on vintage linens.  The menu will be one reminiscent of the era and provided by George Alpogianis, local Restauranteur and Chef from Kappy's American Grill.

Tickets will be $25 each and will be sold starting around Labor Day.  "We think this event will be a fun new addition to all the programs offered by the Society like our Veterans Voices Videos, last year's Arcadia Press book and the many other exhibits offered to the community" stated Society President Donna Hedrick.
