Morton Grove Names Village Administrator

Out of 80 applicants and six finalists, village selects a familiar figure.

Morton Grove Village President Dan Staackmann announced his intention to appoint Ryan Horne, who has been performing the village administrator job for the past few months, to the position permanently, according to a statement released late Wednesday.

Staackmann will ask the village board to confirm Horne's appointment at the April 23 village board meeting.

Horne has acted as village administrator pro tem since Joe Wade left in December. Before that, Horne had served as finance director since 2009 and assistant finance director since 2007.

He holds an MBA from Northeastern Illinois University and is also a Certified Public Accountant.

"I have been very pleased with the work Ryan has done while serving as finance director and more recently as village administrator pro tem," Staackmann said, according to the statement. "He has impressed the village board members and me with his work ethic and his focus on customer service."

Horne was chosen from 80 applicants and six finalists.
