Niles Easter Egg Hunts At Golf View Rec Center

NILES, IL — With Easter coming up next weekend and Holy Week about to begin, the Niles Park District has announced its Spring Egg Scramble will take place Saturday morning, while a flashlight egg hunt for older kids is set for Wednesday evening.

The egg hunt will take place at Golf View Recreation center at 7800 North Caldwell. The event will be moved inside in case of poor weather. Attendees have been asked to bring their own baskets to the hunt. Complimentary refreshments will be made available.

Saturday's event begins at 9:30 a.m. and is open to children up to age 8. Kids will be divided into four age brackets, ages 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. All children who pre-register will receive a bag of goodies, and there is a $8-10 fee to participate, organizers said.

On Wednesday, children ages 7-13 were invited to bring a flashlight and come out to the golf course after dark for a 7:30 p.m. egg hunt. Food and drinks will be served at the rec center before the hunt, with dessert and prizes passed out afterward.

Attendees have been asked to remember to bring their own bag and flashlights, and all children will be required to register for the event in order to participate, according to organizers.
