On December 4, 2019, the Village of Niles was out in force with private contractors trimming trees, bushes and hedges.
The stated purpose of the work was to provide for public safety by clearing tree, bush and shrub branches and limbs away from power lines.
Crews were working at the crack of dawn until dusk doing into yards and alleys with trimming equipment, trimming and bundling up the branches for destruction in the wood chipper.
