The 2019-2020 school year has already been a memorable one for SJB School, according to Dr. Maloney. The year began with the implementation a new team structure that provides for greater staff collaboration, increases rigor, and raises expectations for students. “Our students already routinely score above the national average on standardized tests, so we are excited to soar even higher,” she said.
“We continue to develop and reimagine our consistently strong technology, fine arts, and athletic programs,” said Dr. Maloney, who cited the student-run media platform, WSJB, as one example of the innovative programming at SJB. Others include the addition of cheerleading as an official sport to its already robust athletic program and a brand new 3-D printer that gives students hands-on opportunities in technology. “Our well-rounded graduates attend the best high schools in the area,” said Dr. Maloney who added that many are invited to join honors programs as freshmen.

Most importantly, SJB School is a place where faith and community are immersed into everything that we do, according to the principal. “The school’s culture has created a close community that cares about and supports one another,” said Dr. Maloney. “For instance, when our 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team won the City Suburban Catholic Conference Championship last weekend, our school family filled the stands at Notre Dame College Prep.”
