Pair Charged With Shoplifting Nearly $800 In Medication: Blotter

Incidents and arrests from the Morton Grove police blotter from Oct. 5 to Oct. 19.

MORTON GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Morton Grove Police Department as a record of police activity and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

CAR BURGLARY
A resident reported on Oct. 10 that someone had stolen a watch and two bottles of prescription medication from a possibly unlocked car in the area of Lincoln and Fernald avenues in Morton Grove. There was no damage to the vehicle or sign of forced entry.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Residents in the 5800 block of Keeney Street reported on Oct. 12 that someone had etched multiple names into freshly poured concrete.

ARRESTS

Lavonte Walton, 20, of the 1500 block of St. Louis Avenue in Chicago, and Jamound Wallace, 20, of the 1200 block of Kolin Avenue in Chicago, were arrested on Oct. 8 in the area of Dempster Street and Marmora Avenue and charged with retail theft. They were accused of stealing about $787 worth of over-the-counter medications from a CVS.

A 24-year-old Niles man was arrested on Oct. 9 in the area of Shermer Road and Foster Street and charged with driving with a suspended license.

A 24-year-old Chicago man was arrested on Oct. 11 in the area of Church Street and Luna Avenue and charged with driving with a suspended license.

A 48-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested in connection with a Sept. 1 traffic crash that occurred around the intersection of Lyons and Washington streets where he was found to have been driving without a valid license.
