A group of award winning writers will all be at the Morton Grove Public Library on May 14, 2016 at 3:00pm for a discussion of the past, present, and future of Polish Literature and its place in today’s literary landscape.
The conversation will feature: Krystyna Dąbrowska, a poet and winner of the Wisława Szymborska Prize for her second collection of poetry, White Chairs; Zygmunt Miłoszewski, a crime writer, journalist, and winner of the High Calibre Prize for the Best Polish Crime Novel for Entanglement; Magdalena Tulli, novelist of the 2006 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award nominated and shortlisted for the 2007 Nike Prize for her novels, Moving Parts and Flaw; Agata Tuszyńska, memoirist, biographer, poet with a memoir, A Family History of Fear, nominated for the Prix Medicis in France, and awarded the Silver Gloria Artist Medal; and Antonia Lloyd-Jones, translator, twice winner of Found in Translation.
Susan Harris, editorial director of Words without Borders, and coeditor, with Llya Kaminsky, of The Ecco Book of International Poetry, will moderate the conversation.
