Senator Mulroe to Host 4th Annual Community Resource Fair

Senator Mulroe will be hosting his 4th annual Community Resource Fair September 13th in Dunham Park from 10am until 2pm.

CHICAGO– Senator Mulroe will be hosting his 4th annual Community Resource Fair September 13th in Dunham Park from 10am until 2pm. The fair will feature many state, county and city agencies including:

Park Ridge Park District
Village of Harwood Heights

Illinois Department of Employment Security
Chicago Fire Department
Cook County Assessor’s Office
Attorney General’s Office
Village of Schiller Park
Park Ridge Park District
Illinois Department on Aging (SHIP Senior Health Insurance Program
IDOT
Illinois Hunger Coalition
Chicago Public Library
Northwest Side Housing Center
Chicago Police Department
Wright College
Regional Transportation Authority

The primary goal of these agencies will be to provide information on their services to the public; however some booths will also provide on-site services. The Secretary of State will have the capabilities to renew or correct driver’s licenses and State ID cards, as well as renew license plate stickers and provide organ donor registration (applicable fees apply to these services). The Department of Employment Security will be providing assistance with preparing resumes and resources for job seekers. Adults can inquire about unclaimed refunds on property and children can receive free ID cards .

In addition to the various agencies listed a Health Tent will also be on-site and providing free flu shots, osteoporosis screenings, stroke risk assessments, hearing & blood pressure screenings, medication information and much more.

Healthy cooking demonstrations, a reptile show and various music and dance performances will take place on the 2014 Fair Stage. Free refreshments, music, a rain barrel raffle, lots of giveaways, face painting, bingo and an inflatable bounce house will also be available.

“This fair is a chance for members of the community to learn about valuable state services and receive health and education information all in one location,” said Mulroe. “I am honored to be able to provide this opportunity to the people of the 10th District.”
