St. Catherine Laboure Catholic School teachers serve up some fun

Niles|St. Catherine students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the school.

Twenty-two teachers and support staff from St. Catherine volunteered behind the counter and at the Drive-Thru on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at the Niles McDonald's located on Milwaukee Ave., where they served students and their families in a fundraiser. The bitter cold temperatures didn’t hinder the success of this FUNdraising night.

Teachers Lori Prokopiak and Julianna Schulte worked hard selling pies. Teachers Goczkowski, Bannon, and Cusack took turns in the Pie Box costume. Principal Reuter and Assistant Principal Snyder were at the event the entire night talking with families and taking lots of pictures with the kids and handing out the orders behind the counter.

The proceeds from the 171 pies sold went directly to benefit the St. Catherine students. A percentage of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were also donated directly to St. Catherine. The school plans to put the money raised in the general funds to help run the school.

David Bear, Owner/ Operator of the Niles McDonald's is delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
