St. John Brebeuf announces first Queen of Hearts raffle winner

A new $1000 jackpot which is expected to grow by the time of the drawing is set for Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Jim Lange became the first winner of the St. John Brebeuf Queen of Hearts raffle when ticket #54 was pulled at the first drawing Wednesday, Nov. 27. His half of the pot was $795. A new Queen of Hearts board starts for this week with a jackpot of $1000 which is expected to grow according to John Jekot, Chair of the Queen of Hearts Committee.

The next drawing is set for Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Chaser’s Bar & Grill, 9003 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles. Ticket sales continue at both the parish and school offices during regular office hours and are also available at Rand Road House in Des Plaines; at Chasers Sports Bar & Grill locations in Niles, Schiller Park and Lake Zurich; and at Sofia's Slot & Video Cafe in Niles. Tickets are $5 each.

"SJB has joined a growing list of Catholic churches in the Chicago Archdiocese in this fundraising initiative. The money we raise will help us continue the mission of our parish—feed the poor, serve the ill, and deepen the faith—so that we can be a transformative force in the larger community," said Father Michael Meany, pastor at St. John Brebeuf.
