St. John Brebeuf Christmas Benefit Luncheon Offers Music and Special Foods

Dec. 20 Christmas luncheon to benefit St. John Brebeuf Music Ministry and Musica Lumina Concert Series

A Christmas luncheon will be held Sunday, Dec. 20, at The Rev. Thomas May Parish Ministry Center at St. John Brebeuf Church, 8307 N Harlem, Niles. Reservations must be made by Sunday, Dec. 13, by calling the church office at 847-966-8145. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for children. The community is invited.

Featuring beloved Polish and English carols, music will be provided by the Friends of SJB Music Ministry. All proceeds will benefit the SJB Music Ministry and the Musica Lumina Concert Series which features the Rudcki Commemorative Concerts. These concerts honor the legacy of the Rev. Stanley Rudcki, the former chair of the Niles College Department of Fine Arts, who founded the Niles Concert Choir and the Niles Symphony Orchestra in the 1960s.

Sponsored by Relevant Radio and The Niles Bugle, the nine concert 2015-16 series organized by SJB Music Director Marek Rachelski includes the popular Do-It-Yourself Messiah on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. plus five additional concerts in 2016. They are Quintet Attacca on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m.; Avanti Guitar Trio on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 3 p.m.; Mozart: Mass in C Minor, K. 427, on Sunday, March 20, at 3 p.m.; Kantorei: The Singing Boys of Rockford on Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m. and Musica Lumina: Music from the Slavic World on Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m.
