St. John Brebeuf to Host Oktoberfest Oct. 17-18
Community members are invited to join the fun at the two-day Oktoberfest hosted by St. John Brebeuf (SJB) in Niles on October 17 and 18. Taking place under a large tent, the event will feature live entertainment, great food, beverages, a farmer’s market, pumpkin patch and children’s games and activities. SJB is located at 8305 N. Harlem Avenue, Niles.
Admission for those 21 years old and older after 5 p.m. is $5. The suggested donation for adults prior to 5 p.m. is $5. It is free for anyone under 21 years of age.
On Friday, Oct. 17, the tent opens at 5 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. The featured entertainment starts at 7 p.m. with a performance by Jimmy’s Bavarians. Accordionist Mike Gadzinski will also play on both nights.

On Saturday, Oct. 18, the tent opens at 11 a.m. with the party wrapping up at 10 p.m. The day’s activities include a Farmer’s Market, Pumpkin Patch and Face Painting. The Niles Public Library will also coordinate children’s activities. The Niles Park District will provide wagon rides. Starting at 7 p.m., the entertainment is the Joe DeLuca Orchestra.
German dinners will include brats, German potato salad and sauerkraut along with hot dogs, pretzels and beef sticks.
