Workmen have cleared the area of the south lawn at St. John Brebeuf School in Niles. The water is being added this week in preparation for opening a public ice rink on Sunday, Jan. 26 as part of the Catholic Schools "Open House".
The rink will open at 10 a.m. Scheduled activities will begin at 2 p.m. with a "Shoot The Puck" event. Members of the Niles Park District skate team are expected to perform later in the afternoon.
Refreshments can be purchased for a nominal fee starting at noon in Flanigan Hall. Ice rink hours will be 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily as weather permits.
