Street Crack Sealing in Niles

Crews are busy sealing street cracks in Niles.

Streets get stress cracks over time and those cracks are being sealed up to prevent further erosion and as maintenance to lengthen the life span of the streets.

Signs were posted to have residents park their cars off street for 24 hours, although the signs were posted well in advance of the work, closer to 48 hours and the work was done at the same time as garbage pickup, which indicates a lack of planning and coordination.

Once the street cracks were filled in, crews advised residents to wait at least 10 minutes before driving over the streets, so the filler material could solidify and fill in the cracks.
