Students Brought Knives to Gemini Junior High: School

Principal notifies parents via email their children may have seen a knife aboard their school bus.

Two students have been disciplined in separate incidents that occurred last week.

Two cases of knives being brought to school have been dealt with by school officials in Niles.

Both incidents, involving separate students, occurred during the week of October 5 at Gemini Junior High School in Niles, according to Pioneer Press reports.

No threats were made, but in each case the knife was brought on the students’ school bus.

According to Pioneer Press:

In one of the cases, a student was shown the knife on the bus and then told a teacher as soon as he arrived at school. The bus company notified the school of the other incident.”

“Please be aware that your child may have seen a knife on the bus or heard about a knife during the school day,” wrote Gemini Principal Richard Groeling. “No one was hurt, threatened in any way or in danger at any point in time.”
