WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?
• Teens 13 years of age and older

WHAT DO VOLUNTEERS DO?

• Lead weekly Summer Reading Program activities for ages birth through 6th
grade
• Encourage love of reading by sharing their favorite books
• Help prep art and craft projects and activities
• Act as storytime assistants
• Assist at programs, such as duct tape crafting, bicycle decorating, and robot
building
WHY SHOULD I BE A VOLUNTEER?
• Earn experience and community service hours
• Receive a letter documenting your volunteer hours at the library
• Receive an invitation to a private volunteer party
VOLUNTEER APPLICANTS:
• Must have an adult who is NOT a relative fill out the Reference Form, which
should be emailed/mailed to the contact listed, or given back to applicant in
a sealed envelope and turned in to the Adult or Youth Services Desk
• Must be committed to volunteering when scheduled
• Must have an email address and check email regularly for updates
• Must register for and attend one training session: Thursday, May 22 from 7-8 pm OR Wednesday, June 4 from 4:30-5:30 pm.
