Toys for Tots Multi-Neighborhood Urgent Appeal for Help by December 16

Greetings My Neighbors,

A fellow veteran who works closely with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Annual Toy Drive sent me an urgent appeal for help. The Toys for Tots Drive 2015 is short 25,000 toys for this year. They have 80,000 kids on their list to receive toys but have only 55,000 toys collected as of this week. Their deadline for collecting toys is Wednesday, December 16. This date is important for logistics to ensure toys are distributed by December 25.

Can our neighborhoods of Skokie, Niles, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood and the NW side of Chicago help out the 2/24 Marines? (Read this as: 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Corps Regiment) They are the local Marine unit that leads our area’s Toys for Tots drive? I say yes and ask for your support to do the same.

Donation info below. Thank you, in advance, for the help you give. Questions? Always ask.

Donate online to Toys for Tots: http://chicago-il.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/local-donate.aspx

Your donated dollars will go a LONG way because the Marines have special buying agreements (big discounts) with the toy stores with NO shipping and NO sales tax! (Toys for Tots is a registered 501c3 charity and your dollars are tax deductible).

97% of your donation goes to providing toys, books and other gifts to less fortunate children. 3% is spent on support - principally covering fundraising expenses. Not one donated dollar goes to pay for salaries or any other manpower costs.

DONATE TOYS

Donated toys must be new; in the original packaging; and unwrapped. (Stuff animals are NOT preferred)

DROP OFF LOCATIONS:

See the Toys for Tots website for area drop off locations: http://chicago-il.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/Default.aspx (click on “Toy Drop Offs”)
