White Elephant Raffle Fundraiser
The Society’s White Elephant raffle is a fundraiser to help the Niles Historical Society to be able to continue to have top-notch Speakers and Programs that are enjoyed by all who come to the Museum as well as to defray costs for everyday operations. The Society hopes that everyone will join in and participate.
What exactly is a White Elephant raffle? It is a FUN way to “re-gift” your holiday items from Aunt Sally or Uncle Leo, those items that you will never use and wish to “donate” to a good cause (so you won’t feel guilty next December 25th). It can be any new or nearly new item worthy to be in a raffle. Then people “make an offer” on the wrapped items by putting their raffle tickets in a container in front of the item. There will be generic comments like “kitchen item” marked in front of each item. You can put as many tickets as you wish in each conatiner.
