
NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information is a record of arrests and incidents reported to the Northbrook Police Department. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt and that criminal charges merely represent accusations. Everyone is presumed innocent until their guilt is established in court.
DUI
Nancy Striblen, 45, of the first block of North Wolf Road in Wheeling, was arrested June 3 shortly after 8 p.m. and charged with drunk driving. Police responded to the area of the 2500 block of Dundeee Road for a report of a vehicle driving in an erratic manner. Officers witnessed the car commit a traffic location and then pulled over the vehicle. Cops spoke with the driver, Striblen, and determined she was under the influence. She was also cited for improper lane use and failure to wear a seat belt.

Nelli Abzalova, 38, of the 300 block of Vita Drive in Wheeling, was arrested June 8 shortly after 2 a.m. in the 4000 block of Dundee Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers witnessed her commit several traffic violations while driving westbound on Dundee and stopped her vehicle. After speaking to Abzalova, police determined she was under the influence and placed her under arrest.

RETAIL THEFT
A 72-year-old Arlington Heights man was witnessed switching price tags on four items of merchandise at the Goodwill in the 4100 block of Dundee Road. He paid the clerk $23 for $76.97 in merchandise before leaving the store. He was stopped by store security and held until officers arrived. He was issued a local ordinance citation around 1:12 p.m. on June 2 and released.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A resident of the 4100 block of Sunset Lane reported that someone entered her unlocked Honda and rummaged though the vehicle. Several items she described as missing from her vehicle were found on a lawn several houses away around 11:30 p.m. on June 2.
SUSPENDED LICENSE
Otis Johnson, 25, of the 3200 block of West Lake Avenue in Glenview, was arrested June 3 at 6:41 a.m.m after a traffic stop on Willow Road at Landwehr Road. Police witnessed Johnson commit a traffic violation heading westbound and determined his license had been suspended. He was cited for driving with a suspended license, no front registration plate and improper lighting.
PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY ORDINANCE
A 53-year-old resident in the 1700 block of Birch Road was cited for allowing underage drinking at his home after police responded to a report of loud party with minors drinking alcohol and found a large group drinking in his garage.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A 2005 Acura was parked in the north lot of Glenbrook North High School during the overnight hours of Sunday, June 4 when its windshield, side windows and mirrors were spray painted. The damage was reported the following afternoon.
THEFT
A resident of the 900 block of Western Avenue reported that someone had stolen a lawnmower valued at $500 from his front yard sometime between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on June 6.
THEFT
A BMX bicycle with yellow lettering and front pegs was taken from a residence in the 1000 block of Dell Road sometime on June 1.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of the CVS in the 900 block of Willow Road reported a shoplifter around 4:45 p.m. on June 8. A person described as a black man wearing a white baseball cap, a black and white striped polo shirt and blue jeans was seen removing about $1,5000 in merchandise from store shelves, including Prilosec, razor blades and other nearby items, before leaving without paying. Witnesses told police he entered a dark colored Cadillac and exited the lot.
