Allstate Announces Shake-Up

Allstate announced a management shake-up and reorganization focusing attention closely on customers and improving efficiency, the Associated Press reports.

Matt Winter, president of the company’s personal insurance division, will become president of Allstate and CEO of Allstate Life Insurance Co. The Northbrook-based company’s brand distribution will be reorganized to include a larger adviser role for agents and “several operations will be combined into one unit the be led by Jim DeVries, Allstate’s chief administrative officer, who will become executive vice president for brand operations.”

Having risen almost 30 percent over the last year, Allstate’s shares rose 54 cents in midday trading the day of the announcement.
