NORTHBROOK, IL – Senior Health and Fitness Day will return to Northbrook later this month with free activities and wellness programming for adults 55 and older.
The event, hosted by the Northbrook Park District, is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Techny Prairie Activity Center. That day is also National Senior Health and Fitness Day.
Free offerings will include body composition analysis through InBody scans, open gym pickleball, access to the walking track and fitness floor, and low-impact group fitness classes. Healthy snacks, games and giveaways will also be available.
“Each year, growing research continues to highlight the essential role exercise plays in preventive health,” Fitness Supervisor Julie Lappas said. “At Techny Prairie Activity Center, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive community for individuals of all ages and abilities, and we take pride in showcasing the wide range of programs that support and inspire healthy living.”
Participants will also be able to meet sponsors and community partners during the event.
